I really can’t explain yung pain on that supposed to be “my special day”. Kasi paano ko naman i-ce-celebrate eh my birthday was the last day ng burol ng aking mommy. Iniisip ko na lang na at least nandyan pa siya kahit yung body lang niya inside the coffin. Pero grabe yung pain. Na-miss ko ang kanyang sweet na pagbati , ang mahigpit na hug and the gift of course 🙂
Na-appreciate ko talaga ang effort ng aking family, relatives, friends at church mates who greeted me and tried to cheer me up on my birthday. I was deeply touched by their gestures of love and concern. Umaapaw din yung FB greetings, emails, text messages at messages sa Tweeter. I feel so loved!!!!!
Early in the morning, I received this gift from my cousin’s family:

Late afternoon naman, dumating ang mga high school friends and may dala pang birthday cakes. Crayola ang beauty ko. Thank you talaga mga friendship.
Nagbigay din ng birthday cake ang family ni Diko Nathan at Ate Mila Santos. Sayang lang at hindi ko na nakuhanan ng picture. Thank you so much.
And noong gabi kinantahan ako ng “birthday song” ng mga tao sa burol sa saliw ng musika mula sa mga musikerong galing sa Pandi, Bulacan. Thank you so much.
All the glory, honor and thanksgiving ay syempre ibinibigay ko sa aking Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Thank you for another year na ibinigay Mo sa akin kahit na sobrang lungkot ng circumstance, ipinaramdam Mo sa akin na mahal Mo ako and that You will see me through this difficult time. Thank you for loving me unconditionally and for being there for me sa anumang season ng buhay ko.
Last February 3, I celebrated my birthday with my family at Vikings SM City North EDSA The Block. Two (2) days prior to the feast, nag-text na ako sa Vikings para magpa-reserve and was told na may price increase sa kanilang lunch buffet, P738.00 plus 5% service charge na daw!! Whoosh!
Actually pang-4th time ko nang nag-celebrate ng birthday sa Vikings at parang naging tradition na nang family na dito ako mag-spend ng birthday.
Super paborito ko ang Chinese herbal soup at ang mga sushi at sashimi
Sa totoo lang, kahit ilang beses na rin akong nakapag-buffet dito, hindi ko pa natitikman lahat ang foodies. Ang dami naman kasi at takot akong i-try yung mga hindi familiar sa akin na foodies kasi “no sharing at no left-over” ang peg dito.

At dahil birthday ko, libre ang aking buffet (basta may kasama akong at least four full paying adults). Heto naman ang kanilang free birthday cake….
Noon kapag birthday mo, bukod sa birthday cake may lalapit pang waiters at kakantahan ka ng birthday song pero ngayon wala na. May nag-announce na lang nang birthday greetings tapos nagpatugtog ng birthday song and nagsayaw ang mga waiters at cooks sa gilid near the buffet tables.
After a few minutes, may lumapit na waiter na may dalang Vikings hat at yung malaking happy birthday sign para sa picture taking. Here’s my pic wearing the hat kasama ang aking gwapong baby boy.

Thank you Lord for another year na ibinigay mo sa akin. Thank you sa Iyong katapatan sa aking buhay. More of You and less of me this 2016.
Last July 14, 2015, we celebrated my mom’s birthday with a thanksgiving dinner.
These are the “foodies”

Assorted steamed vegetables (okra, string beans, baby ampalaya fruit, alugbati and eggplant) with our fave, bibingka (rice cake)
Pansit, chopsuey, afritadang manok, fried tilapia and bananas
And of course, the cakes..
The red velvet cake baked by my friend, Atty. TJ (sooo good! ubos agad!) and the chocolate cake from the Santos Family.
There were two (2) more cakes, mocha roll from my cousin Jay and ube roll from my cousin, Kuya Ramil. Too bad hindi ko nakunan ng pictures.
Thank you to all our relatives and close family friends who celebrated with us on that special day.
We thank and praise the LORD for our mom who has unselfishly shared her life to us. She’s the wind beneath our wings.
I love you Mommy ko. Happy birthday. More birthdays to come 🙂
